Shipping Information
Useful information about delivery and returns
Dahlia tubers are shipped from April through May. Your exact shipping date will be based on your planting zone. We use USPS Priority Mail for flat-rate shipping.
For our fall sale (September–November), tubers will be shipped immediately upon order. If you prefer your fall order to be held for spring delivery, you must clearly note this in the ordering notes.
All Dahlia tubers will have a viable eye and will be packaged in some sort of medium (vermiculite, pine shavings, or peat moss) for transport. To minimize shipping cost, tubers will not be individually wrapped. Additionally, please note that tubers come in all shapes and sizes, so you may receive a smaller or larger one, nonetheless it will grow so long as it has all the required anatomy.
Due to the wet weather conditions experienced in Minnesota this season, some tubers may exhibit visible lenticels. Please be assured that this is a natural physiological response and does not negatively affect the tuber's viability, future growth, or bloom production.

Order Inspection and Liability Policy
Upon receipt of your order, please inspect your tubers carefully. If you encounter any issues, you must contact me within 2 business days to discuss a resolution.
Please note that once your order has been shipped, I cannot be held responsible for issues arising from weather conditions, improper storage (including winter storage), pest or rodent damage, or growing conditions.
Additionally, due to the widespread and often untraceable nature of dahlia viruses and crown/leafy gall—which can originate from various sources including soil—refunds will NOT be issued for these concerns.

Dahlia Care Instructions
-Dahlias should be planted after the danger of frost has passed. This usually means after Mother’s Day.
-Pick a location that will get at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight.
-I recommend adding bone meal into your soil prior to planting.
-Plant 4-6 inches deep and 12-24 inches apart.
-Plant each tuber horizontally with the “eye” facing up.
-Once planted, DO NOT water until the first green shoots appear above the soil. Overwatering and watering before green shoots appear will cause tuber rot.
-Once actively growing water deeply once a week ensuring water gets down to the roots of tuber. During the hot summer months, increase watering to 2-3 times per week.
-Fertilizer monthly with a low nitrogen concentrate.
-To promote longer and stronger stems, pinch once plants are between 8 to 12 inches tall. Snap about 3 to 4 inches off the top of the plant above a set of leaves.
-Dahlias grow tall and heavy so make sure to stake your plants.
Enjoy 😊
